1730 Sideboard Refinished

Dating to around 1730, this Louis XVI sideboard has been carefully brought back from a dilapidated state to a renewed and refined finish. Years of wear and neglect had left the piece hidden beneath five separate layers of old paint, obscuring its elegant form, carved details, and timeless craftsmanship. Each layer was painstakingly removed to reveal the character beneath, allowing the sideboard’s original beauty and historic charm to emerge once again. After thorough preparation, the piece was given a fresh coat of paint and a protective finish, creating a clean, graceful look that honors its antique heritage while making it ready for a new chapter in the home.
